We have the pleasure to announce that International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) - Bangladesh, The world business organization, will organize jointly with ICC Austria a three-day ICC Global Conference on Letters of Credit & Bank Guarantees on 20-22 June 2018 in Vienna, Austria.
You are aware that EU is Bangladesh's main trading partner, accounting for around 24% of Bangladesh's total trade in 2015. Bangladesh was the EU's 35th largest trading partner in goods during the year. EU imports from Bangladesh are dominated by clothing, accounting for over 90% of EU's total imports. EU exports to Bangladesh are dominated by machinery and transport equipment (49%). From 2008 to 2015, EU’s imports from Bangladesh have almost trebled from €5,464 million to €15,145 million, which represents nearly half of Bangladesh's total exports.
The Global Conference will be attended major bankers and experts from EU countries to deliberate on Letters of Credit & Bank Guarantees. This will provide the opportunity to our bankers to interact with their EU counterparts on the practices followed by the EU countries for international trade finance as well as discuss on some cases.
The Conference will be of significant benefits to trade finance officials of Bangladesh Banks, bankers, corporations, exporters, importers, corporate lawyers, SME entrepreneurs, freight forwarders and other international trade professionals to understand EU requirements for international trade. Certified Documentary Credit Specialists (CDCS®) and Certificate for Specialists in Demand Guarantees (CSDG®) will get 18 Professional Development Unit (PDUs) for re-certification.
