ICC Bangladesh, The world business organization, will hold a day-long workshop on Commercial Letters of Credit & Demand Guarantee and Bank Payment Obligations- Practices, operations, Legal Analysis at Hotel Golden Tulip, Dhaka on Saturday, 20 March 2021.

Documentary Credits have been predominant instruments in the context of Bangladesh over a long period of time. The practitioners have the general understanding about various provisions of UCP 600. However, how they apply general understanding of UCP in their day to day operations reflecting international standard banking practice, is one of the major challenges. Moreover, it is essential to know about the legal implication of each provisions, based on the outcome of various court cases. In recent time, combating financial crime, especially for trade transactions, has become an integral part of trade operations. Therefore, it is needless to say that trade practitioners has no option but to know how to effectively combat financial crimes through trade. Considering this, the workshop has been designed to deliberate on various issues related to Letters of Credit, Demand Guarantees and Bank Payment Obligations.

The workshop will be of significant benefit to bankers, exporters, importers, non-banking financial institutions, risk management department, legal experts and other professionals dealing with international trade.

Certified Documentary Credit Specialists (CDCS), Certified Specialist in Demand Guarantees (CSDG) participants will receive 8 (eight) Professional Development Unit (PDUs) for re-certification by attending this workshop.
