The second Business Advisory Council of UNESCAP and the Asia Pacific Business Forum 2011(APBF-2011) meetings are being held at the United Nations Conference Centre at Bangkok, Thailand, according to a press release. ICC Bangladesh president and chairman and CEO of ETBL Holdings Limited Mahbubur Rahman, also a member of the council, is already in the Thai capital to attend the two-day meetings. The newly co-opted member of the council Rokia Afzal Rahman, president of Bangladesh Employers Federation and chair of Arlinks Limited, also a former adviser to the caretaker government, is also at Bangkok to attend the meetings. Other member of the team is DCCI president Asif Ibrahim. ICC-B secretary general Ataur Rahman will also join the meetings.
Assuming a leadership role in economic growth and business in the Asia-Pacific region, improving business connectivity in Asia and the Pacific, ending human trafficking, regional trade and investment challenges and opportunities in the post-crisis period, innovative business practices for agricultural sustainability and food security, sustainable business practices for a green economy will come up for discussion in different sessions.
During the Business Advisory Council meeting on Tuesday, the ICC-B chief will moderate the session on Innovative Business Practices for Agricultural Sustainability and Food Security.
