Chief Adviser (CA) Fakhruddin Ahmed yesterday said the government will form Bangladesh Better Business Forum (BBBF), a public-private platform to promote business environment in the country, in a day or two.
The CA said this at a view-exchange meeting with chief reporters of print and electronic media at his office in Dhaka.
Earlier on September 5, Fakhruddin proposed forming the forum at a dialogue between the government and businessmen.
According to the proposal, the forum will seek to increase interaction between the business community and the government high-ups.
For a better business climate, the BBBF will work towards pinpointing the problems facing the economy and recommend their solutions.
The government also recently formed Regulatory Reforms Commission (RRC), headed by former adviser to the Iajuddin-led caretaker government Dr Akbar Ali Khan.
The chief adviser told the view-exchange meeting that the RRC will work on modernising business-related laws.
“Regulatory Reforms Commission will recommend amendments to laws that stand in the way of doing business,” he added.
To be headed by the chief adviser, the BBBF will comprise government policymakers, chief of army staff, business leaders, civil society members and economists, according to the draft.
