ICC Bangladesh President Mahbubur Rahman left Dhaka Sunday for Jakarta to participate in the 4th Presidential Friends of Indonesia Programme 2012 in celebration of the Independence Day of Indonesia. He has been invited as a Special Guest of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Dr. H.E. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono for a week-long Programme on the occasion of 67th Anniversary of the Indonesian Independence.

The Presidential Friends of Indonesia Programme 2012 organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia has invited Special Guests from 11 countries: Australia, Bangladesh, Egypt, Fiji, Japan, Mongolia, Myanmar, Republic of Korea, Papua New Guinea, Tunisia and Vanuatu.

Besides attending several special events during the 7-day celebration, Mahbubur Rahman and other guests will call on the President of Indonesia Dr. H.E. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Former President of Indonesia Mr. B. J. Habibie, Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. R.M. Marty M. Natalegawa and Governor of Central Java . Mr. Bibit Waluyo.

The programme designed with the theme “Democracy and Economic Development: Indonesias Lessons Learned and Best Practices” will be conducted in Jakarta, Capital of Indonesia and Semarang, the Capital of Central of Java between 12-18 August 2012. The distinguished guests will participate in this Special Programme designed to celebrate the 67th anniversary of Independence.

ICCB President Rahman is expected to return home on 18th August via Kuala Lumpur.
